**Teacher Preparation:**
1. Set up the tables with all the materials.
2. Cover the tables with newspapers or plastic sheets.
3. Ensure each child has an apron or old shirt to protect their clothing.
4. Prepare an example drawing/painting to show the students.
**Lesson Structure:**
**1. Introduction (10 minutes)**
- Welcome the children and gather them in a circle.
- Briefly explain what they will be doing today.
"Today, we'll have lots of fun drawing and painting! We’ll learn how to use colours and different tools to create beautiful pictures."
**2. Demonstration (10 minutes)**
- Show the students an example drawing and painting.
- Demonstrate how to use coloured pencils and crayons to draw simple shapes (e.g., circles, squares, and triangles).
- Show how to use watercolours and brushes: dip the brush in water, choose a colour, and paint on the paper.
- Emphasize washing the brush before changing colours to keep the paints clean.
**3. Activity 1: Drawing (15 minutes)**
- Hand out A3 paper and coloured pencils/crayons to each child.
- Ask the children to draw something they like (e.g., a favourite toy, a house, or a tree).
- Walk around the classroom, offering encouragement and assistance.
**4. Activity 2: Painting (15 minutes)**
- Distribute the watercolour paints, brushes, and jars of water.
- Encourage the children to paint over their drawings or create new paintings.
- Remind them to wash their brushes when changing colours.
- Continue to offer support, praise, and guidance.
**5. Sharing and Reflection (10 minutes)**
- Ask the children to tidy up their workspaces.
- Gather the group to share their artwork.
- Allow each child a moment to show their drawing/painting and explain what they’ve created.
